Part of a linen shroud with an osirian motif

Egyptian antiquities
W: 33.00 cm L: 32.00 cm

The part of the linen shroud bears a representation of Osiris Onuris. The royal image of the "perfect being", meaning of Osiris, occupies the center of the cloth, where the deceased's body would be placed. The god is wearing the elaborate Atef crown, with double ostrich feathers at each side of the tiara and above the solar disk of which two cobras are coming out, framed by a griffin's wings. Two horns are sprouting out of the tiara's base, on which cobras with a solar disk are depicted.
