The George Tsolozidis Collection exhibited on this website includes more than 2,000 objects. The Collection offers a panoramic view of the achievements and conquests of Greek art, from the earliest Neolithic (7000-5200 BC) to the dawn of Greek prehistory to the late Post-Byzantine period (19th c.) at the start of Modern Greek life. In consequence, thanks to its visual and chronological variety as well as its unique presentation of works belonging to all periods, it was first exhibited in 1994 at the Old Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki. Since then, it has been presented in organized fashion in temporary exhibitions in Greece, Europe, and America, and has participated through loans in a number of other temporary, themed exhibitions mounted by museums and foundations. Objects from the Collection are on permanent display in the Greek public and private museums to which they were donated.
