Common type of handles, from the late Classical period to the roman period, on bronze and, rarely, glass situlae attached to the vessel's rim. In this particular case, one of their ends is passing through two hoops on the upper section of a lion's head, attached under the rim serving as a spout with the animal's mandible extended. All the details of the face and the lion's mane are rendered in relief.
