On both sides of the kylix, the same Dionysian scene is depicted. The god Dionysos, bearded, wearing a chiton and a himation, is sitting on a folding stool framed by two dancing maenads. On one side, the god is holding a horn in his left hand, while in his right one two vine sprigs, implicating Dionysos's capacity as god of wine, inebriation and euphoria. Similar sprigs, from which bunches of grapes are hanging, are spread over the background.
